Honey came to us in June 08, as a puppy, from another rescue group
that was overwhelmed with the amount of dogs they had to care for.
All three puppies in her litter were very unsocial. All they knew
before coming to us was a 4x4 cage and the hand that dumped food
into it every day. They were all very timid. We gave then lots of love
and attention and brought them to PetSmart for adoption. A very nice
couple, with two other dogs, adopted Honey. The couple realized she
would require a lot of TLC and were more than willing to give it to her.
As it turns out, Honey is well on her way to becoming a well adjusted
little dog and very happy with her new family. They come to our
Yappy-hour social event every month and we get the pleasure of
seeing her grow. Not just physically but emotionally as well.
Serenity came to us in February 08 as a feral kitten. She spent some time
in a foster home as well as time in the cattery while we worked on taming
her. She was most comfortable on a large cat stand that was in the cattery.
Every time she was moved to a new location around the facility, the cat
stand had to be moved as well. She was eventually adopted by a nice older
couple even though she was still fairly afraid of people and didn't like to be
picked up. Unfortunately, after a few months she became allergic to the
carpet cleaner that was used in the home and the couple had to return her.
Finally, one of our cattery volunteers was having her 18th birthday and her
mother adopted Serenity for her as a surprise gift.
She truly loves Serenity. Even with all her issues.
